Portland, ME is the signature of old port charm with its brick walkways and old fishing village style pubs, restaurants, and stores. Located in the heart of the Old Port is DiMillo’s floating ship restaurant and marina (www.dimillosmarina.com).

Kennebunkport, ME is home to the Bush compound and Chicks Marina (www.chicksmarina.com), which pampers its boating guests with complimentary coffee and pastry each morning and home-baked cookies each afternoon and is a short walk to downtown Kennebunkport. Chicks also has an on-site retail store with marine supplies, food, beverages, and household goods.

As one cruises northerly along Maine’s coastline be sure and stay at Robinhood Marine Center (www.robinhoodmarinecenter.com) located on beautiful, secluded Riggs Cove in Georgetown, Maine. The marina is quaint and charming and has picturesque views of the cove. Robinhood has the renowned Osprey Restaurant, courtesy car, and Spartan’s Marine Hardware for any repair or maintenance requirements.

In Rockland, ME Trident Yacht Basin (www.tridentyachtbasin.com) features a sandy beach, two on-site full menu restaurants, and courtesy vehicle. In addition, in the heart of Rockland is Journey’s End Marina (www.journeysendmarina.com), a full service marina with a ship’s store and outlets north and south to allow boaters to cruise along the Maine coastline.  Both marinas are within walking distance to downtown Rockland where there are numerous unique shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums. In July, Rockland hosts the annual North Atlantic Blues Festival.  

Front Street Shipyard (www.frontstreetshipyard.com) is located in scenic Belfast, ME. The marina has shower facilities and a lounge area. Belfast has a local movie house (the Colonial Theatre), numerous restaurants, and the Belfast Arts Gallery Walk of over 15 galleries and street performers add to the festivities. From June to September, local artists create a dozen interactive street sculptures.

Stonington, ME is in Penobscot Bay and is home to Billings Diesel & Marine (www.billingsmarine.com), located on beautiful Deer Island Thorofare. Fuel and full service boat repair and maintenance are available at the marina. Nearby is the Aragosta Restaurant on 27 Main Street (207-367-5500) overlooking Stonington Harbor.

Wentworth by the Sea Marina (www.wentworthmarina.com) has spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean from its marina and onsite grand hotel. It has tennis courts, heated indoor and outdoor pools,restaurant, and golf nearby.

Settled in 1623, Portsmouth is the third oldest city in the U.S. It has many sidewalk cafes, art galleries, jazz clubs, and restaurants. On any given day, there is always something happening in Portsmouth. In the heart of Kittery-Portsmouth Harbor are Badger’s Island Marina and Badger’s Island Marina East (www.badgersislandmarina.com) located in Maine’s southernmost town, Kittery. The marinas are in walking distance to Portsmouth, NH. Marina at Harbour Place(www.marinaharbourplace.com) is in the heart of historic downtown Portsmouth on the Piscataqua River. A boater can step off their vessel and walk within one minute to downtown Portsmouth.

Boston, MA has a variety of attractions from seeing the World Champion Red Sox play, visting Bunker Hill, touring the Children’s Museum and Science Museum and Old Ironsides to seeing a live performance at the Wang Center. Located right on Boston Harbor’s waterfront is Constitution Marina (www.constitutionmarina.com), from which you can walk to downtown Boston in 5 minutes. The marina welcomes transient boaters and also offers a dockside bed and breakfast on one of its B&B boats.

Marina Bay (www.marinabayboston.com) in Quincy, MA is just 7 miles from Boston and offers a unique docking experience. Its Ocean Club is the Boston area’s premier summertime nightclub. Marina Bay has Nantucket-style boardwalks that will lead you to a wide variety of ocean front restaurants, lounges, and shops.

Cape Cod, MA is home to Hyannis Marina (www.hyannismarina.com). The marina has two on-site restaurants (Tugboat’s and Trader Ed’s Cabana Bar), large harbor side pool, gift shop, and is within walking distance to beaches and local attractions. The Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Cape Cod Melody Tent, and the Kennedy Legacy Trail are all in Hyannis.

Block Island, RI has 17 miles of beaches, scenic bicycle paths, several restaurants, pubs, and cafes. The taxis offer island tours. While on the island, visit Chaplin’s Resort & Marina (www.champlinsresort.com) which has an outdoor pool, video arcade, tennis courts, and moped bike rentals.

Newport, RI is the sailing capital of the world and host of the annual Newport International Boat Show. The area features a variety of arts and craft shops and waterfront restaurants. If you feel adventuresome, there are several mansions to tour and a local casino. Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina (www.newporthotel.com) is located at the heart of historic Newport and welcomes transient boaters.

In Warwick, RI the Apponaug Harbor Marina (www.apponaugmarina.com) is a must for avid anglers, with striped bass, bluefish, tautog (blackfish), flatfish, scup and clean shellfish being abundant in the waters of Greenwich and Narragansett Bay.

Mystic, Connecticut with its Old New England charm is a wonderful destination to visit, and transient boaters are welcome at Mystic Shipyard (www.mysticshipyard.com). The port area has a sundry of shops and restaurants. The Mystic Aquarium is one of the nation’s leading aquariums and home of famed ocean explorer Dr. Robert Ballard and his Institute for Exploration. Do not forget to visit the Mystic Seaport Museum with all its historical nautical treasures.

The Marina at American Wharf (www.americanwharf.com) is located in Norwich, CT. The marina has a swimming pool, GBAR restaurant, and private car service to Mohegan Sun casino, which is only 3 minutes away from the marina.

Essex, Connecticut is home to the Griswold Inn, established in 1776, and is the oldest continuously run tavern in the United States of America. Nearby is Brewer Dauntless Shipyard (www.byy.com), which has a swimming pool, showers, local taxi, and rental cars. The restaurant, Abby’s Place, is conveniently located right at the marina.

Saybrook Point Marina (saybrookpointmarina.com), located in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, offers an indoor and outdoor heated pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, picnic areas with gas grills, laundry facilities, and marine supply store. There is a spectacular restaurant located right on site. Old Saybrook also has Harbor One Marina (www.harboronemarinact.com) on the Connecticut River and features a Bistro and outdoor heated pool. Close by in the village of Old Saybrook are several fine restaurants, a movie theater, museums, and plenty of shopping.heated pool. Greenport, New York is a destination spot for those who enjoy rolling farmlands and vineyards.  The Fourth of July in Greenport is celebrated from July 1 through July 6 with a variety of events occurring every day.  Greenport has numerous artesian shops offering one-of-a-kind crafts.  During the summer enjoy Dancing in the Park nights, the Tall Ships, and the Cole Brothers Circus.  After a day of boating or shopping treat yourself to a relaxing, gourmet meal at The Townsend Manor Inn (www.townsendinn.com). You can enjoy a glass of wine while watching a breathtaking ocean sunset at the Townsend Manor Inn, which is open Thursday through Monday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm during the summer.

The 79th Street Boat Basin welcomes transient boaters to dock and stroll the streets of New York City.  The New York City subway is a convenient way to see what New York has to offer.  There is Rockefeller Plaza, the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Metropolitan Museum of Fine Art, Museum of Modern Art, and numerous retail shops.  The city has numerous dining locations from which to choose.

City Island, New York has the Seaside Trolley, which goes to the Bartow Pell Mansion Museum, where visitors tour the mid-1800’s mansion, carriage house, and botanical gardens.  City Island is known for its seafood, but has a variety of restaurants to meet every traveler’s palate, from French and Italian to Japanese and Chinese. If your plans are to stay a night or more in City Island, then Minneford Marina (http://minnefordmarina.com) would be a great place to dock.  The marina offers floating docks with water and electricity, showers, sun docks and barbeque grills. 

As you navigate on the Hudson River, be sure and stop at Donovan’s Shady Harbor Marina (www.shadyharbormarina.com) where the owners have been boaters all their lives and know how to treat other cruisers.  The pet friendly marina has a convenience store, swimming pool, restaurant, free-pump-out service, and staff with a positive, welcoming attitude.

On the West End of Lake Oneida in Brewerton, New York is Ess-Kay Yards (www.ess-kayyards.com), a family owned and operated marina since 1972.  This picturesque marina is located halfway between the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean on the New York State Erie Canal.  The marina offers a courtesy car for local errands, pickup and drop off services to local restaurants, high speed wireless internet, complete repair services, and shower facilities. 

In Montauk, New York is Westlake Marina (www.westlake-marina.com), “your home port, away from home”.  The marina is nestled on a sheltered basin on Lake Montauk and offers great sport fishing for the avid angler.  Once docked, you will find an on-site bar and restaurant, Westlake Fishhouse, and a fully stocked store.

Lincoln Harbor Marina (www.lincolnharbormarina.com) is situated on 66 acres along the Hudson River directly across from NYC and within minutes from Manhattan, the hub of entertainment and cultural centers. Lincoln Harbor offers Dinner Cruises, Boat Charters and Brokerage Services and is just steps from a hotel, restaurants, and shopping mall.

Carriage House Marina (www.carriagehousemarina.net) is located in Sea Bright, NJ and is a two minute walk from Sandy Hook and Monmouth beaches, a Tiki bar, and gift shops. Sea Bright is notorious for its beach clubs and fine dining facilities.

Utsch’s Marina (www.capemayharbor.com) in Cape May, NJ is the ideal spot for anglers with its annual striper tournaments. Adjacent to our parking lot is the nationally recognized Lobster House Restaurant. Here are some other interesting places to visit while docked at Utsch’s Marina: Historic Cold Spring Village, Nature Center of Cape May , Cape May Point Lighthouse, Cape May County Zoo, and Cape May – Lewes Ferry.
